Team Squash FAQ

Membership

To play team squash in the Nottinghamshire leagues this season (September 2024 - April 2025), you will need to be a member of Sutton Squash Club and have England Squash JUST PLAY membership.

• Cost of membership to Sutton Squash is £20.
• Cost of membership to England Squash is £15.

Sutton Squash membership can be bought by sending £20 to the club account with your name as the reference.

JUST PLAY membership can be purchased on EnglandSquash.com.

Matches

Our team of five faces off against another team of five, with each person playing one match each.

Each match is a best of five to 11 in the premier league and to 15 in other leagues.

You are expected to help mark or referee the other matches and help will be given if you have not done this before.

Matches are generally home and away with around 10 matches per half season.

The season runs from October to December and January to April.

Subs are £10 a match, paid to the captain by debit or credit card on the night. This includes your match and food afterwards.

It is customary to provide hospitality after a match. This means we shower and go for a post-match meal at the Nags Head in Sutton.

Home Nights and Venue

• 1st Team: Monday nights at Sutton Community Academy
• 2nd Team: Tuesday nights at Sutton Community Academy
• 3rd Team: Monday nights at Sutton Community Academy
• 4th Team: Tuesday nights at Sutton Community Academy
• Squash 57 Team: Tuesday nights at Sutton Community Academy

Start times are 6:45pm. Please turn up on time or early so matches can get underway as soon as possible.

Team Selection

All players are ranked from 1 to 30+ in order of merit. This forms our seeding list and is based mostly on SquashLevels.

Each player is eligible to play for certain teams depending on their ranking.

You will be added to a WhatsApp group for your team, along with the other eligible players for that team.

Each team has a captain. The captain will determine everyone's availability for matches and select a team based on availability and ability.

You will then play your team match in the order of seeding.
